Dr. Elya Prystowsky is the executive director of the Rural
Collaborative. Prior to this, she launched two accountable communities of
health, a three-county health collaborative in the Olympic Peninsula and a
five-county health collaborative in the North Sound regions of Washington State.
Dr. Prystowsky holds a PhD in epidemiology from the University of Washington
School of Public Health and a MS in population health from Harvard University
School of Public Health. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship in adolescent
health at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia and a
pre-doctoral fellowship in post-menopausal health at Group Health in Seattle,
Washington. Dr. Prystowsky is a fierce advocate for rural health, women’s health
and the use of data to drive decisions in healthcare.
